How it works
Discover, match, tailor, apply, track
PlaceMeFast handles the mechanical parts of a job search and leaves the judgement to you. Here is what that means in practice.
The five steps, in detail
01
Discover
Monitors employer hiring systems for roles as they appear, rather than waiting for them to reach an aggregator.
Watches applicant tracking systems used by U.S. employers — including Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, and Workday — so a posting is picked up close to when it goes live.
Freshness is the point. An application that arrives in the first days lands in a small pile someone is actively working; the same application three weeks later lands in several hundred.
02
Match
Ranks each role against the profile you define, and shows the reasoning rather than a bare score.
You set target roles, seniority, compensation floor, locations, work style, company criteria, visa needs, and exclusions. The match runs against those, not against keyword overlap alone.
Every match carries fit and ATS-readiness signals, compensation where it is published, and why it was surfaced — so when it gets you wrong, you can see how and correct it.
Lower-confidence matches are kept separate as worth-a-look rather than mixed in, so the main list stays trustworthy.
03
Tailor
Adapts your materials to a specific posting, and fixes the mechanical problems that stop a resume parsing.
Keep more than one resume and use the right one for each kind of role. A tailored version can be generated against a specific job description, along with a cover letter.
Structure, formatting, and keyword alignment are checked for applicant tracking systems, which is where a large share of applications are quietly damaged.
Optimized files can be downloaded and reused anywhere. Nothing is locked in.
04
Apply
Fills supported application forms, or queues and submits under controls you configure.
In Free, fill forms from your profile, resume, and AI-assisted answers. You review and submit.
In Auto-Pilot, high-fit roles can be matched, tailored, queued, and submitted — with review, approval, and resume-selection settings you configure.
Submitted responses are recorded where the form allows it, so weeks later you can see exactly what was sent in your name.
05
Track
Pulls the state of the search out of your inbox into one pipeline.
Email-forwarding and inbox workflows capture application confirmations, recruiter replies, interview activity, and outcomes.
Every application shows its stage — review, queued, applied, interviewing, rejected, archived — along with the resume version used and the application history.
Connecting a Gmail account is opt-in and off by default. Forwarding works without granting inbox access at all.
What it does
Eight things, described as precisely as we can while the product is still being built.
Learns what a good role looks like for you
Target roles, seniority, compensation, locations, remote and hybrid preferences, company criteria, visa needs, and the things you want excluded. Keep more than one resume and use the right one for each type of role.
Finds roles early
Monitors employer hiring systems — including Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, and Workday — for newly posted openings, rather than waiting for them to reach an aggregator.
Explains every match
Each role arrives with fit and ATS-readiness signals, compensation where it is available, and the reasoning behind the recommendation — so you can correct it when it is wrong.
Tailors the application
Adapts a resume to a specific job description, drafts cover letters, and improves structure, formatting, and keywords for applicant tracking systems. Optimized files can be downloaded and reused.
Fills the forms, on your terms
In Auto-Pilot, applications can be matched, tailored, queued, and submitted under review and approval controls you configure.
Finds the right person to contact
Surfaces recruiter and company contacts, drafts outreach, and can send from your own Gmail account if you choose to connect one. Opt-in, and off by default.
Keeps the pipeline current
Email-forwarding and inbox workflows capture confirmations, recruiter replies, interview activity, and outcomes — so the record stays accurate without you transcribing it.
Shows what was actually sent
Every application records its stage, the resume version used, the application history, and the submitted form responses where they are available.
And what it does not do
It does not promise interviews, offers, or employment. It helps you run a search; the market and the employer decide the rest.
It covers United States job searches only. It will not pretend otherwise.
It does not send anything you have not seen. Outreach and submissions happen under controls you set.
It will not invent experience you do not have. Everything on your resume has to survive an interview.
What you will need
Two things are required. The other two are optional and off unless you turn them on.
A resume
Any format. You can keep several and choose which one is used for each kind of role.
Your preferences
Target roles, seniority, compensation floor, locations, work style, company criteria, visa needs, and anything you want excluded.
Chrome, for self-apply
The extension fills supported application forms. Optional — everything else works without it.
A Gmail account, optionally
Only if you want recruiter outreach sent from your own address or inbox tracking. Off by default, revocable at any time, and forwarding works without it.
Three ways to use it
Pricing is not set yet, so there is none published here. These are the shapes the plans will take.
Free
Exploring the product
Discover roles, tailor resumes and cover letters, find recruiter contacts, and use the Chrome extension to fill supported application forms.
Auto-Pilot
A more hands-free search
Everything in Free, plus managed matching, tailored applications, configurable automation and approval controls, and priority support.
Features, automation options, and eligibility can vary by plan and may change before launch. Nothing here is a commitment on price.
